The purpose of the Veterans Health Centre (VHC) is to support veterans living in their own homes as long as possible, as safely as possible by offering a range of health, social and leisure services. If the home situation becomes unsafe the VHC along with other community resources can assist veterans and their families to develop a plan for a safer living arrangement.
The VHC is operated by Broadmead Care whose purpose is to build communities where every person can experience wellbeing and happiness. The envisioned future is that Broadmead Care will transform Long Term Care in Canada; will be nationally recognized as a model that inspires wellbeing and happiness; and will be an inspiring place to work.
The Veterans Health Centre supports veterans who live in their own homes, as long as possible, and as safely as possible, by offering a range of health, social and leisure services. The Program promotes a social atmosphere conducive to developing a renewed interest in life, and a sense of dignity and self-worth, and provides support, education and respite to veterans, families, and other care partners. When necessary or appropriate, we help provide a smooth transition for the veteran and care partners to a care home.
The VHC offers day program, bathing and overnight respite services to eligible veterans as determined by Veterans Affairs Canada,
