Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre Inc. (SHCC) is a sexual violence resource centre, serving those of all genders in the Interlake Eastern Region of Manitoba. SHCC provides inclusive support and sexual assault crisis intervention to survivors and those affected by sexual violence through our SARAH program, acts as an education resource for schools through our SADI program, and engages community and service providers through our Reaching Out Program.
SARAH Crisis Program – SARAH Crisis Workers provide support 24/7 to individuals reporting a historical or recent sexual assault at RCMP detachments and emergency departments. SARAH Crisis Workers provide support, advocacy, and referrals for those accessing medical attention and legal support following a sexual assault.
SARAH Counselling and Support Program – Provides free individual counselling to those 15 and older in the Interlake Eastern Region of Manitoba who have experienced historic or recent sexual violence.
SADI Program – Is an educational resource for schools designed and delivered to grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 students. Students learn about topics that align with the Manitoba Physical Education and Health Learning Outcomes including self-esteem, media literacy, internet safety, trauma, healthy relationships, and sexual violence. Through partnering with schools, the SADI program enhances safety and respect in schools and promotes youth leadership in the prevention of violence with the goal to empower youth and reduce violence.
Reaching Out Program – Is the community engagement and public awareness aspect of SHCC. Through reaching out we connect with service providers, communities, and community members to promote awareness of the impact of violence, support for survivors, and responsibilities of communities and individual bystanders, and the availability of regional support services.
